你怎么又把钥匙忘在家里了?
How did you leave your keys at home again?

02 / UNDERSTANDHow it works
Sentence pattern
又 often introduces a repetition that is already part of the situation being reported. A phone has run out of power again, a shop has closed again, or someone has repeated an earlier mistake. The context can express surprise or frustration, but that emotion is not required.
Put 又 before the predicate, including before 没 in a repeated negative event. For a straightforward request to repeat something next, choose 再 instead. The contrast is about how the repetition is presented, not a rule that every future-looking sentence must exclude 又.
COMMON MISTAKESWhat to watch for
Avoid昨天他再迟到了。
Use昨天他又迟到了。
The sentence reports another late arrival yesterday. 又 fits that completed repetition; 再 would normally point to a further occurrence ahead.
