How to use 到见
Verb + 到 / 见
A result complement can show that an action achieved its outcome. After sensory verbs, 到 or 见 may indicate that seeing or hearing actually occurred, rather than only the activity of looking or listening. The complement follows the verb, and any object comes after the resulting combination.
With familiar sensory combinations, 到 and 见 often overlap in meaning, but that does not make them freely interchangeable after every verb. 到 has a wider range of result uses beyond perception. To deny that the perceptual result occurred, 没 or 没有 commonly appears before the verb and complement. The distinction matters because an attempted action and a successful outcome are separate claims in Chinese.
Examples with pinyin and English
你看到那个帅哥了吗?
Did you see that handsome guy?
我看到了。

你听到了吗?
Did you hear it?
你没看见那个帅哥吗?

What to remember
- Place the result complement after the verb.
- Keep any object after the combined form.
- Use 没 to deny the achieved perception.
