How to use 才
Prerequisite / time / effort,subject + 才 + result
才 can show that a result becomes possible or occurs only after an important prerequisite. The earlier phrase may describe time spent, money paid, effort invested, or a condition finally met. The sentence presents that earlier requirement as a threshold, rather than simply reporting that two events happened in order. English often uses only after, only then, or not until.
Place 才 before the resulting predicate and make the prerequisite clear in the surrounding clause. The speaker may imply that the result came late or required more than expected, but the emphasis depends on context. This is related to 只有…才 without always stating necessity as explicitly as the full paired construction does.
