How to use 还有

Sentence pattern

⋯⋯ ,还有 ,⋯⋯

还有 can introduce an additional point after information already given. The new material may be another request, reminder, condition, or practical detail. In this linking use, it often begins a separate clause or sentence, and a pause can mark the transition to the added thought in conversation.

The added information does not need to share the same verb or grammatical shape as the first point. It should still relate clearly to the topic the speakers are discussing. Keep this use separate from the literal combination of 还 and 有 describing further possessions or things that remain. The following structure reveals whether 还有 acts as an additive conversational connector or forms the main existence predicate.

Examples with pinyin and English

我要大杯,不要冰, 还有,少放糖。

Wǒ yào dà bēi,bùyào bīng. Háiyǒu, shǎo fàng táng.

I want a large drink, no ice. Also, just a little sugar, please.

不要一边吃饭一边说话。 还有,别吃那么快。

No talking while taking a test. Also, no using your cell phones.
