How to use 也都
也都 + Verb / Adj.
也 and 都 can appear together when an added group shares a situation already mentioned. 也 connects the new statement to earlier information, while 都 indicates that the predicate applies throughout the relevant group. The normal order in this combined pattern is 也 before 都, followed by the predicate.
The group must be identifiable, whether it is stated as the subject or clear from context. Negative predicates can also follow 也都, meaning that the additional group shares a negative situation. Keep track of scope rather than translating the two words independently: “also” links statements, and “all” distributes the description over the chosen set. The construction does not automatically make a claim about every member of a larger population.
