How to use 差很多
Subj. + 差很多
差很多 describes a large difference between the things being compared. It serves as a predicate, either after a plural subject or after a phrase connecting two items with 和 or 跟. The gap may concern age, meaning, usage, price, or another dimension supplied by context. The expression does not itself say which side is greater.
This contrasts with predicate 差不多, which presents the difference as small enough for rough equivalence. Do not replace every occurrence of 差不多 with 差很多, because 差不多 has additional adverbial uses meaning almost or approximately. First check whether the original sentence is actually judging similarity. If direction matters, add a more specific comparison explaining which quantity or quality differs.
