How to use 之类的
像 ⋯⋯ 之类的 + Category
之类的 follows an example or a short list and includes other things of that kind. A following category noun can make the intended class explicit. 像 may introduce the example, but it is not always required. The phrase identifies a family of similar items rather than a precisely enumerated set.
The examples should give the listener enough information to recognize the common category. The construction works with objects, activities, stories, remarks, and other kinds of content when the relationship is clear. English may use “such as,” “and similar things,” or “of that kind.” Match the translation to the whole noun phrase rather than trying to assign a separate English word to every Chinese character.
