How to use 本来;原来
本来 + original plan / fact; 原来 + discovery; 原来的 + noun
本来 often points to an original plan, an expected state, or a fact that held all along. A later contrast may explain why the plan changed. With 就, it can insist that something is inherently so or was already true. 原来 also refers to an earlier state, but it has a distinctive discovery use when the speaker realizes the truth.
Use 原来的 before a noun when identifying a former thing or situation. At the start of a realization, 原来 can mean it turns out or so that is why. The two words overlap when describing what was originally the case, but their common patterns reveal different conversational purposes: recalling an initial arrangement, emphasizing an existing fact, or announcing newly understood information.
