On Saturday afternoon, I borrow a drill to put up a bookshelf on the wall.
I have only drilled one hole when someone knocks. It is my downstairs neighbour.
I think he is going to complain. “Sorry, I’ll be done soon,” I say at once.
Instead, he points to the drill. “Could I borrow it when you’re done? I have something to put up too.”
“Of course. I have two holes left.” He asks, “Shall I hold the shelf for you?”
Once the bookshelf is up, I go downstairs with him. This time I hold the shelf and he drills.
