In the afternoon, I receive a message from a colleague: “The report is due today.”
The message is short, with no explanation or other details.
I assume he wants it immediately, and I feel a little upset.
I write a long reply to explain why I haven’t finished yet.
Before sending it, I decide to go and ask what he means.

He points to his computer. “I sent you the reminder too, so you’d have the right time.”
He has just come out of a meeting and is sending the same message to everyone in the group.
I delete the long reply and simply say, “Thanks for the reminder. I’ll hand it in today.”
