A chair in the sun

早上，太阳出来了。我在窗前放了一把椅子。

Zǎoshang, tàiyáng chūlai le. Wǒ zài chuāng qián fàng le yì bǎ yǐzi.

In the morning, the sun comes out. I put a chair by the window.

我想在这里看书，先去喝水。

Wǒ xiǎng zài zhèlǐ kàn shū, xiān qù hē shuǐ.

I want to read here, but first I go to get a drink of water.

我回来了，猫在我的椅子上。

Wǒ huílai le, māo zài wǒ de yǐzi shang.

When I come back, the cat is on my chair.

“请起来。”我说。

“Qǐng qǐlai.” Wǒ shuō.

“Please get up,” I say.

猫看看我，又睡了。

Māo kànkan wǒ, yòu shuì le.

The cat looks at me, then goes back to sleep.

我拿来一把椅子。现在，我们都有地方坐了。

Wǒ nálai yì bǎ yǐzi. Xiànzài, wǒmen dōu yǒu dìfang zuò le.

I bring another chair. Now we both have somewhere to sit.
