A bag at the door

中午，我开门，看见门口有一个包。

Zhōngwǔ, wǒ kāi mén, kànjiàn ménkǒu yǒu yí ge bāo.

At noon, I open the door and see a bag outside.

包里有米饭、鸡蛋，还有一张纸。

Bāo lǐ yǒu mǐfàn, jīdàn, hái yǒu yì zhāng zhǐ.

Inside are rice, eggs, and a piece of paper.

纸上写着：“今天太忙了，别忘了吃饭。”

Zhǐ shang xiězhe: “Jīntiān tài máng le, bié wàng le chī fàn.”

The note says, “You’re so busy today. Don’t forget to eat.”

我给妈妈打电话：“饭是你做的吗？”

Wǒ gěi māma dǎ diànhuà: “Fàn shì nǐ zuò de ma?”

I call my mother. “Did you make this meal?”

妈妈说：“不是。我今天也很忙。”

Māma shuō: “Bú shì. Wǒ jīntiān yě hěn máng.”

She says, “No. I’m very busy today too.”

这时，楼上的朋友下来了，手里拿着两个杯子。

Zhè shí, lóushàng de péngyou xiàlai le, shǒu lǐ názhe liǎng ge bēizi.

Just then, my friend from upstairs comes down, holding two cups.

他说：“饭是我做的。我们一起吃，好吗？”

Tā shuō: “Fàn shì wǒ zuò de. Wǒmen yìqǐ chī, hǎo ma?”

He says, “I made it. Shall we eat together?”
